Lake Atitlan-Coffee Production

In the background you can just make out the machine that removes the hull from the beans. In the foreground the guys are drying the beans out after the short fermentation process.

Chichicastenego Cemetary

We visited the biggest market in Guatemala, which is in Chichicastenago. The graveyard there is a mix of the traditional religious ceremony spaces and Catholic faith.

Camino Seguro Community Charette

Just a couple of pics from the community charette
that we ran with the teachers of Camino Seguro.

Guatemala City - Municipal Garbage Dump

The biggest kettle of vultures Ive ever seen.

Can you spot the people in the above photo?

How about now, zoomed 10 times?

The owner of the dump bought all the natural drainage ravines in Guatemala City two generations ago and is now filling them with trash under a leasing contract with the city.

The trucks come in non-stop throughout the day and the workers put their hand on the truck staking their claim to the trucks contents.

Off to the side the works sort their finds.
